Hardcore Sales Pitch

“I don’t think you know how good these products are.”

“Excuse me?” I wasn’t sure I’d heard him right. The veterinary trade show was busy and loud. His name tag said Dr. Gary something or other so I guessed he was an attendee.

“These here.” He said waggling one of our Calf Start tubes he’d grabbed off the display.

“I used one-a these just a few weeks ago on a calf come in the clinic. He had that dull eye they get just before they go real south and get stiff.” He went on. “Got most the tube in him and honestly thought I’d just wasted the money doin’ it - but sometimes you just gotta try.”

I nodded and we went on.

“Anyways, I went to makin’ rounds and checkin in with the team out front and when I came back later, he’s a sittin’ up. Now he still don’t look good. But if you’d a asked me he’d be sittin’ up that quick let-a-lone make it - I’d a bet against you.”

This exchange wasn’t in my veterinary tradeshow handbook of things to discuss but I do love a good success story, so he went on.

“Well anyhow I musta used a couple dozen boxes since. My wife buys our stuff so I don’t know much about ya’ll, but I saw your booth here and thought I’d tell ya that, find out what’s in it that mighta made it work so good and see what else ya got.”

“Great. Well it’s not magic. We just use the right ingredients and then put A LOT in it. Others don’t because it’s expensive. I could go on but that’s really what it boils down to.”

“That’s what I figured.” He nodded like we had a secret.

“And as for “what else we got besides Calf Recover” – Here’s a tube of the Calf Start and one of our Gut Boost. Lemme know If you like ‘em.”

As he finished looking around and while stuffing a brochure in his bag he turned and said. “That’s a pretty good sales pitch. I don’t usually like sales pitches but that’s a pretty good-un’.”

I nodded in agreement. ;-)
